New Rules for the Crimson Throne path
HARROW POINTS
Pcs can spend harrow points as follows:
1. They can be used as action points (still only 1 action point usable per encounter).
2. They can be used to modify any d20 on a 1 for 1 basis after the die is rolled. They can be used to add or subtract from a d20 roll up to +2 or -2 (does not stack with DM's friend modifier but can off set it).

3. In certain battles pcs that still have unspent harrow points have certain advantages that change from adventure to adventure and depends on the card a pc chose at the start of the adventure. In Edge of Anarchy pcs with unspent harrow points gain a +1 bonus to AC and reflex and a +2 on all rolls that use dex in a single particular encounter.
A. Andrian drew the RABBIT PRINCE card and he should remind me of this if he is involved in a dangerous game.
B. Carufinwe drew the AVALANCHE card and he should remind me of this if the crap hits the fan through no fault of the pcs.
C. Bruntalmar drew the JUGGLER card and he should remind me if he chases a criminal.
D. Riley drew the DEMON'S LANTERN and he should remind me if the pcs do something really stupid.

4. The pcs can earn 1 additional Harrow point by coming to the game early and/or staying late and having a personalized Harrow reading (pc and DM edited not necessarly random).

4708 Neth 21st Korvosa

Early AM
The pcs attempt to see Cressida Kroft but as it is a couple of hours after midnight they are turned away. The spellcaster Vreeg is summarily executed for crimes against the state (or just for being a goblin, who knows).

late AM
The exhausted pcs sleep into the late AM and then go to report their success to Field Marshal Cressida Kroft. The field marshal thanks the pcs pays them 300 gold each and introduces them to a gray-haired sword-master by the name of Vencarlo Orisini.

Cressida tells the pcs that Vencarlo has learned of a plot by a half-blood Scarni thug by the name of Devargo Barvasi to blackmail Chelax's ambassador to Korvosa, one Darvayne Gios Amprei. Ambassador Amprei has been stirring up trouble for Korvosa by advocating ruinous trade sanctions. Cressida would like to obtain whatever is being used to blackmail him in order to leverage more favorable recommendations to Chelax. Cressida is especially concerned about rumors that Amprei is recommending an embargo. Cressisa said that she would prefer that there be no deaths on this mission, if possible, but that Devargo is a thug and no one would mourn his passing. However he also pays his vice tax promptly and to the copper and, as such, is not a wanted criminal.

Early PM
Vencarlo walks the pcs to Eel's End where the pcs should be able to find Devargo Barvasi the self-styled "King of Spiders". The pcs decide to purchase Carufinwe a magic bow from a contact of Riley's in the Elven enclave before attempting a contact with Devargo. Then the pcs take care of banking errands and make sure that everyone has access to the group's account.

later PM
A couple of hours before nightfall the pcs return to Eel's End. Riley passes himself off as a "John" and gathers information from a prostitute on the moored ship the House of Clouds. This brothel is run by Devargo's lover, a half elf woman by the name of Halvara. Andrian passes himself off as drug user but his daggers are discovered and he is told to disarm or leave. Andrian tricks the guards by passing two non-magical daggers to Brunt. The guards are not able to find the (better hidden) magical daggers. Andrian briefly enters the drug den ship known as the Dragon's Breath. Then he exits and finds Riley. The two heroes walk over to Eel's End and convince a guard to send a message to Devargo. Devargo agrees to hear the two out and they enter the captain's cabin. By appealing to Devaro's megalomania and by expending a significant amount of treasure, Andrian convinces Devargo to sell the blackmail letter for 1,000gp.

Devargo declares his friendship allowing the Andrian and Riley to return without cover charge and offers Andrian a position in his organization.

late PM
As night falls the pcs head back to give Cressida the blackmail letter on Ambassador Amprei. On the way they hear a town crier declare that the King is dead. When they find Cressida she is fighting off tears and verifies that the King is dead.

4708 Neth 20th Korvosa

Early AM
The pcs return to Zellara's house to sleep for the night. Early in the AM the Andrian and Brunt return to Castle Korvosa to return the Queen's stolen brooch. Riley, Carufinwe, and Toka remain at Zellara's house.

Early PM
Andrian and Brunt are in the front of the line and after explaining the reason for their visit they are allowed in to see the King Eodred Arabasti II and Queen Ileosa.

After a lengthy audience with the King the pcs are given the award of 1,200gp and a suit of dwarven armor and a huge spiked adamantine hammer. The two pcs are left with the Seneschal Neolandus Kalepopolis to discuss "Vorel's Legacy". The Seneschal agrees to warn the Cerulean Society about this new weapon possessed by the Red Mantis and he then passes Andrian and Brunt to Field Marshal Cressida Kroft. The Field Marshal gives the pcs an assignment as per the king's orders. All 4 pcs travel to meet with the shaman of the Skoan Quah Thousand-Bones.

There the PCs learn that 1,000bones' grandson Gaekhen was slain by an angry mob and that in order to prevent a war the pcs must recover the body from the Gray District.

PM
The pcs enter a broken mausoleum and follow a stair case into a cavern complex. The pcs are attacked from two sides by skeletons animated from an ossurary and they easily slay 25 skeletons. Then pcs simultaneously attack two groups of elite goblins, one group of commandoes and a group of archers.

Despite being out numbered the pcs manage to easily defeat goblins due to Andrian's stealth and Brunt's new armor. After allying with the 4 remaining goblins the pcs determine that there is an otyugh nearby and it proves to have the legs and waist of Gaekhen the Shoanti.

The pcs battle the otyugh and slay it with little difficulty. The pcs then by pass a necomantic skull trap and battle a powerfully muscled goblin weilding a battle-axe and his two pet stirges. All three are quickly dispatched. Led by the goblins the pcs confront the dreaded Cabbage-head. This creature appears to be an ogre with misshaped head.

Andrian surprises Cabbage-head and Riley uses a spell to knock it into one of the prison-pits. The ogre falls into the pit crushes a helpless shopkeeper. The ogre battles the pcs with only his head and shoulders above the pit. The creature nearly kills Andrian but cannot stand before the combined power of the adventurers. Andrian finally slays it by punching a dagger into the small brain.

After finding a collapsed tunnel the pcs locate a huge patchwork zombie locked in a storage closet they had previously bypassed. The creature is missing most of one arm and when it sees the pcs it scoops up an arm covered with blue tatooes and attacks using the arm as a club. The creature is no match for the combined might of the party.

Then the pcs enter a room used to animate undead and golems. Bruntalmar attempts to coup des gras a patchwork creature laying on the table but only angers it. At first it appears the patchwork zombie is too much for the pcs but a few telling blows from
Andrian and Carufinwe disable the creature and it soon falls apart. Brunt points out that the head carries a scar under one eye as should the head of Gaekhen according to the description provided by 1,000 Bones.

Then the pcs pass through what appears to be the subterranean bedroom of the arch-necromancer Ralth. Brunt uses divine magic to destroy a female zombie that appears to have been the concubine of the deranged necromancer. Lastly the pcs finally encounter Vreeg the goblin leader and apprentice to the dreaded Ralth. The goblin is apparently adding Gaeken's severed arm to a pile of animated limbs created through the use of vile necromancy.

Bruntalmar blocks the crawling pile of animate limbs and defeats it with the aid of the other pcs. Andrian battles the goblin wizard Vreeg and easily defeats him despite the blinding magic used by Vreeg.

late PM
The pcs gather the pieces of Gaekhen and loot Rolth's lair. First they drop off the loot to Zellara's house. This includes an extensive necromantic library and a full set of surgical equipment. Then they return Gaekhen's body to 1,000 Bones. 1,000 Bones thanks the pcs and tells them that if there is ever a conflict between the Shoanti and Korvosa again they should seek him out. After all this the pcs decide to attempt to return to Cressida to tell her of their success and to turn Vreeg over to her but by now it is past midnight.

Gaedren Lamm's treasure

Treasure:
6 pouches with 50 copper each

(all of the following in Gaedren’s treasure chest wrapped in cloth and tied with twine)

a teak tobacco case inlaid with bits of jade, gold ingot (chelaxian) 350gp weight
a scrimshaw of a kraken with garnet eyes
a silver ring with an inscription (for Emmah the light of my nights)
a nude statue of a succubus carved of ivory
an adamantine arrowhead
a +1 holy symbol of shelyn made of abalone shell
one potion of your choice
another magic missile wand
a valuable crystal vial containing an alchemical mixture of your choice
Gaedren’s head should you choose to retrieve it (likely to be a reward since he was wanted by the Cerulean Society)
Zellara's head pickled in brine with the lips sewed shut

AND a jewel encrusted golden brooch with a broken clasp which is obviously the MOST valuable piece. It appears to be a stylized depiction of an imp and a pseudo dragon locked in mortal combat in a yin and yang fashion. The dragon’s eye is a large amethyst and the imp’s eye is a large emerald. The reverse side bears the inscription “to my beloved Ileosa, forever first in my heart”.

4708 Neth 19th Korvosa

Early AM
The pcs wake up at Zellara's house and Andrian claims that she wants the part to follow. After having breakfast and walking a couple of miles the pcs arrive at a small fish processing plant that makes "dock dumplings". Andrian asks the invisible presence to scout ahead and then he claims that the presence wants them to enter the front door. The pcs feed and then battle a large and aggressive starving mutt. after some more scouting the pcs come to a large room with 5 captive street urchin thieves and their captor a large and powerfully muscled half orc wielding a triple flail by the name of Giggles.

The half orc is slain before he has a chance to hurt anyone. For reasons known only to him Riley magic missiles one of the urchins in the leg knocking him unconscious. The other urchins panic and 2 fall through the large square hole in the floor and one is eaten by a shark before she can be rescued. Following directions given by the urchins the pcs follow a dock out to a dilapidated ship called the Kraken's Folly. On the ship the pcs are attacked by a swarm of dream spiders and their mother. Riley uses magic to shove the swarm off the deck and into the water. The pcs finally reach the lair of the thief master Gaedren Lamm and his two henchmen the halfling thief Hookshanks and the failed wizard Yargin.

Riley casts a sleep spell that turns the battle into a slaughter though Yargin does manage to get off an acid wall spell before he is slain. Gaedren is ironically slain by his own pet crocodile. The pcs find Gaedren's treasure which is considerable given his low end enterprise. As such this must have been treasure accumulated over a lifetime of thievery. Also the pcs recover Zellar'a head withe the lips sewn shut and pickled in brine. Andrian decides to cut the thread binding his grandmother's lips and to cremate her head. This releases her spirit and she is no longer tied to the land of the living. After searching through the treasure Andrian realizes the the brooch belongs to the Queen.

Early PM
Before dealing with the brooch issue the pcs see that Lamm's orphans have a safe future. The ten orphans that can pass for Chelaxian are taken to an orphange and the two that look Varisian are taken to the Pantheon temple priest of Torag.

Late PM
After a debate Andrian and Brunt decide to return the brooch to the queen. They head to Castle Korvosa and wait in line but all petioner are sent home because of the late hour before their turn in line. Meanwhile Riley and Carufinwe head to the elven enclave to purchase elven magic items.

letter given to Andrian by Captain Gannon

Most beloved Andrian Constantine,

I realize that we have only known each other a short time but I feel a connection to you that in some way makes me feel I have known you my entire life. Though I have no right to ask it, I beg you to stay in Korvosa and never to return to Maginimar. If I can, I will go to be with you there. You may not recall this but the night before you left you were deep in your cups and you began to speak of the disappearance of Justice Ironbriar. You spoke in a most unseemly loud and arrogant tone and many patrons of the Gilded Cage heard you and marked your words. Perhaps you have forgotten but you bragged loudly that you would be the one that would solve the skinsaw murders and that the fool Ironbriar could no longer interfere with your investigation. You even implied that Ironbriar was taking bribes to let the killer slip through his fingers. You said that no one would ever guess that the charred corpse in the Seven Saws sawmill was actually the incompetent Ironbriar. You even went so far as to say he deserved death for his inability to solve the case. It is my fear that some of those present will have gone to the authorities with what they have heard and you might be implicated in Justice Ironbriar's disappearance. There is no love lost between Magnimar and Korvosa and thus you should be safe there as long as you attract no undue attention. I will do what I can here to defend you and tell everyone about the man of honor I have come to know and love.

With everlasting love,
Sanesha

See contents of the letter above. The pcs take a walking tour of Korvosa from Endrin Island to his grandmother Zellara's house.

Late PM
Andrian takes the party to his grandmother's (Zellara). Andrian claims that he can see her ghost and his Harrow deck seems to float in the air and the cards are moved about. The pcs have a Harrow reading with no discernible medium. Andrain tells the pcs that his invisible grandmother is telling them to rest and that she will take them to her murderer in the morning.
